Industrial Paints
The drying time for industrial paints is a maximum of 5 minutes after they are applied according to their intended use. For this reason, it provides ease of loading and stacking of large machine parts and mass production. With the advancement of technology In addition to this feature, higher quality paints have been produced.
Following industrial paint, polyurethane topcoat paints and epoxy sonata paints meet the needs in the industrial sector. As Kardelen paint, this entire product range can be produced as a package. Each paint has its own properties and usage methods. For this reason, the use of these products requires special care and strict compliance with the terms of use.
First of all, the painted surface should not be dirty or damp. Metal surfaces should be completely cleaned from foreign substances (grease, oil, etc.) with appropriate chemicals. If rust stains appear on the surface before painting, they must be completely removed physically (with trowel and sandpaper).
It should be applied to the cleaned surfaces under suitable weather conditions by diluting it according to the characteristics of the product.
Synthetic thinner is never used in industrial group products. If used, it causes the paint to visibly decay (cut).
Since it is generally applied with a gun, it leaves a film layer of approximately 100 to 150 microns on the applied surfaces. Symmetrical movement of the gun
Non-uniformity and the constant change of gas pressure will cause changes in the thickness between layers, which will cause the pigment concentration to change automatically. This may cause tonal differences in colors.
Industrial Paint
- Thinner: Cellulosic thinner
- Application: Roller, brush, air gun
After the necessary procedures are carried out on the metal surfaces, Kardelen Industrial Primer is first applied.
The purpose of applying the primer here is to obtain maximum efficiency from the final coat of paint to be applied afterwards.
Primer is the preliminary preparation of the surfaces for the final coat of paint. Primer paint creates special effects on raw metal surfaces.
It plays a major role in the adhesion and durability of the topcoat paint with the film layer (expanding the surface at micron level).
Unfortunately, although primer applications seem to be a costly and work-intensive task, increasing durability is more expensive.
It compensates for the cost of topcoat paint, which is a material, by increasing its quantity.
In general, it is completely wrong to dilute the final coat paint more than the dilution rate and use it as a primer.
If thinned beyond the specified ratio, the paint will lose its properties.
Industrial paints, which are generally used with air guns, should be applied with guns with 1.9-2.5 nozzle tips. In case the surface width increases, the tip clearance can be increased and a distance of 40-80 cm from the applied surface is the best method. Wind in operations applied with a gun Application in areas where there is no paint will increase the paint efficiency. You should wait at least 10 minutes for the second coat of paint. The complete drying time of industrial paint is 1 hour and the ossification time is 14 hours.
Epoxy Paint
- Thinner: Epoxy Thinner
- Application: Roller, brush, air gun
As stated in the previous information, industrial paint has an air drying system like oil paints. However, Epoxy paint technology is a two-component system and it reacts with the hardener resin added in determined proportions before application, without being dependent on air. It dries and ossifies. The surface that solidifies as a result of the reaction on the metal surfaces on which it is applied becomes a material that is more resistant to external effects and more resistant to alkalis and other solvent chemicals. Kardelen Boya Epoxy system is used by mixing at a ratio of 5/25 (5 parts hardener - 25 parts paint). The application method is like industrial paints.
Once the hardener resin and paint are mixed and ready for application, it must be applied and consumed within 6 hours. Otherwise, the material will harden in the container and become unusable. During this period, the material should be mixed at intervals to prevent the formation of particles.
Polyurethane (Acrylic) Paint
- Thinner: Polyurethane Thinner
- Application: Roller, brush, air gun
While polyurethane paints are known by one name, they are actually used in two different systems. While one group is applied on ground surfaces, the other group is applied on metal surfaces. The group that Kardelen Boya currently produces and puts on the market is the material used in professional paint application on metal surfaces. The most important feature that distinguishes the polyurethane paint group from our other industrial paints is that it is made of special alkyd resin with serious resistance values against UV rays. It is also recommended for application on metal surfaces used outdoors, such as scaffolding, construction equipment and construction cranes. Application is like polyurethane paints. It is a special polyurethane thinner as a thinner due to its special alkyd structure. It has efficiency-increasing properties if applied on the primer.
